Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
People share personal things with a coach, so I take privacy seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what information I collect, why, where it's kept and the choices you have.
Who I am
This website belongs to Chad Kozak, who runs his coaching and consulting practice as CK Business Consulting in Lloydminster. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Chad. I'm the person responsible for your information, and you can reach me directly:
- Email: chad@chadkozak.com
- Phone or text: 780-870-2002
Lloydminster sits on the Alberta and Saskatchewan border, so I follow Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What I collect
When you fill in the form on this site, I receive your answers: who the coaching is for, what you'd like help with, anything you tell me about what's going on, your timing, your business name and team size (for team enquiries), your name, how you'd like me to contact you, your email and phone number, and how you heard about me.
Along with the form, the site also sends a few details about your visit: the page you sent it from, the website that brought you here (if any), and any campaign tags or ad click codes in the web address (for example from a Google or Facebook ad). This tells me which ads and places actually bring people to me.
When you email, call or text me, I have whatever you choose to share in that conversation.
If we work together, I keep what's needed to coach you well and run the business: scheduling details, my own session notes, and invoice and payment records.
When anyone visits the site, my web host, Cloudflare, briefly handles technical information such as your IP address and browser type. That's needed to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. I don't use it to identify visitors.
How people use the site: analytics and advertising tools from Google and Meta (Facebook) record things like which pages are viewed, how far people scroll, which buttons are clicked, and whether the form was sent. More on this under “Cookies and similar tools” below.
How I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and set up a free call.
- To plan and deliver coaching, workshops and talks.
- To send invoices and keep the business records the law requires.
- To understand how the site is used and which ads, pages and referrals bring people to me, so I spend my time and money well.
- To show my ads to people who have visited the site, and to measure whether those ads lead to enquiries.
I don't sell, rent or trade your information, and I won't add you to a mailing list. When you send the form, you agree that I may contact you by phone, email or text about your enquiry. I'll only send you newsletters or promotions if you separately ask for them, and you can say no or unsubscribe at any time.
What you share in coaching stays private
What you tell me in a coaching session stays between us. I won't share it with anyone without your permission, except in the rare cases where the law requires it: if I believe someone is at serious risk of harm, if I have reason to believe a child needs protection, or if a court orders it.
Team workshops: when an employer books coaching or a workshop for their staff, I can tell the employer who took part and talk about general themes. I don't pass on what any individual said without that person's permission.
Coaching isn't therapy or counselling. If it becomes clear that you'd be better served by a counsellor or another professional, I'll tell you honestly.
Young people
The form on this site is meant to be filled in by adults. If you're enquiring for a young person you support, please share only what I need to understand how I might help. I only coach a young person with the consent of their parent or guardian, and I handle their information with extra care.
Where it's kept and who helps me
I use a small number of trusted services to run the practice:
- Google Workspace for email and the spreadsheet where form enquiries are saved.
- Cloudflare to host this website.
- Zoom, if we meet online.
- Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure how the site is used and how my ads perform. They see how you use the site, not what you write in the form. The one exception is a scrambled copy of your contact details sent to Google Ads when you send the form, explained under “Cookies and similar tools” below.
These companies may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country. Only I have access to your information, and I keep it in password-protected accounts.
Cookies and similar tools
This site uses Google Tag Manager to load a few measurement and advertising tools. They use cookies and similar technology to recognise your browser over time:
- Google Analytics shows me how many people visit, where they come from, and which parts of the page they use.
- Google Ads and the Meta Pixel tell me whether people who saw or clicked my ads went on to contact me, and let me show ads to people who have visited the site.
These tools receive details such as the pages you view, the buttons you click, that a form was sent, your browser and device type, and your approximate location from your IP address. From the form they receive the type of enquiry (for example, for yourself or for a team) and how you'd like to be contacted, never what you wrote about yourself or your situation. Google and Meta may combine this with what they already know about you under their own privacy policies.
Google Ads enhanced conversions: when you send the form, this site takes the email address and phone number you entered and scrambles them on your own device into a one-way code before anything is sent. Google uses that code to match your enquiry to a signed-in Google account that saw or clicked one of my ads, so I can tell which ads lead to enquiries. The code can't be turned back into your details, and the rest of your answers are never sent. If you'd rather Google didn't receive even this, email or call me instead of using the form.
You can limit or switch this off at any time:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Manage ad personalisation in your Google ad settings and your Facebook ad preferences.
Two smaller things stay on your own device. While you fill in the form, your answers are saved in your browser tab so a reload doesn't lose them; they're cleared when you send the form or close the tab. The site also remembers how you first found it (for example, a Google search or an ad), so I can tell which sources lead to enquiries. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from attacks.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to working together: deleted within two years of our last contact.
- Clients: kept while we work together, then for as long as Canadian tax law requires business records to be kept (currently six years), and then deleted.
- You can ask me to delete your information sooner. I'll do so unless the law requires me to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to:
- show you the information I have about you,
- correct anything that's wrong,
- delete your information, or
- stop contacting you.
Just email or call me using the details above. I'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes to this policy
If the way I handle information changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top. For a big change that affects information I already hold, I'll let you know directly.
